Robinson: $3 Million in State Funding Towards Development of Pittsburgh Airport Innovation Campus

HARRISBURGSen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) announced today that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) awarded $3 million to the Allegheny County Airport Authority towards the development of the Pittsburgh Airport Innovation Campus (PAIC).

The project consists of over one million square feet of commercial, research and development space, a site for a 400-room hotel and convention center, and space for up to six corporate hangars. It is estimated that nearly 3,000 new jobs will be created.

“The completion of the PAIC is an industry-leading project with massive potential for regional development, bringing with it incredible economic benefits, thousands of jobs and a substantial investment in local materials,” said Robinson. “I am pleased to see the Commonwealth’s continued venture in PAIC.”

The Authority will receive $1,200,000 through a Business in Our Sites Grant and $1,800,000 through a Business in Our Sites Loan for Phase III.

The project was funded by the CFA, which is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development that administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.
