Robinson to Serve on Advisory Council for Southwestern Veterans’ Center

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-39) to serve as a member of the advisory council for the Southwestern Veterans’ Center (SWVC).

“As a United States Marine Corps veteran, I am humbled to have the opportunity to ensure American heroes residing at the SWVC are comfortable, happy and supported,” Robinson said. “I am incredibly honored to receive this appointment and thankful to President Pro Tempore Kim Ward for entrusting me to serve on the center’s advisory council.”

Established in 1997, the SWVC provides assisted living for veterans and their spouses to reside, along with complete medical services, trained staff, 24-hour nursing, recreational activities, meals, religious services, transportation and more.

“The willingness of our nation’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them recognition through action, which is why I appointed Sen. Robinson to serve on the advisory council for the Southwestern Veterans’ Center,” said Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward. “As a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Sen. Robinson understands firsthand the importance of helping those who have served our country, especially those in his own community and throughout Pittsburgh. He will be an asset and wealth of knowledge to the SWVC advisory council, and I am pleased to appoint him.”

Robinson will serve on the advisory council through Nov. 30, 2024.
